ESPAÑOL
Hace un tiempo fuimos a este lugar para encontrar el cache del meridiano cero y cual fue nuestra sorpresa, pues que en una mesa cercana encontramos algo pequeño pero familiar. Hoy os invito a mirar de nuevo estas formaciones que encontré en su día en Barcelona, en el Raval.

Al igual que en el anterior cache, esto no son fósiles de plantas.
Estas formas se crean debido a la pirolusita que se encuentra en el material usado.
Pirolusita
La Pirolusita es un mineral del grupo de los óxidos. Éste es un óxido del manganeso clasificado dentro del grupo del rutilo, minerales que cristalizan en el sistema tetragonal clase ditetragonal dipiramidal. Es de color negro a gris, con brillo metálico y raya negra a negra azulina. La dureza varia de 6 a 6.5, pero puede bajar incluso a 2 cuando es masiva.
La pirolusita se forma en ambientes oxidantes y con un pH elevado como puede ser Barcelona debido a la humedad del mar. Usualmente se encuentra en ambientes lacustres, depósitos marinos superficiales y zonas pantanosas.
Es muy común en todo el mundo y se extrae gracias a la electrólisis. La pirolusita se forma de manera sedimentaria por la deposición del Manganeso en ambientes como lacustres o pantanosos. A veces también se forma por la oxidación debido a la climatología de otros minerales del manganeso.
Encontramos enormes depósitos de pirolusita en Georgia, India, Brasil, Ghana y Sud-África. En España los principales yacimientos se encuentran en Asturias y Huelva.

Few days ago we went to this place to found the cache zero meridian and for our surprise, there is a table with something small and familiar on it. Today I want you to come to see this formations I'd found in Barcelona, in Raval.

Pyrolusite
The Pyrolusiteis a material belonging to the oxide grup. This one is a manganese dioxide classified in the same grup as rutile, they are minerals wich crystalize as tetragonal pyramidal system. It's coloured between black and grey, with metallic sheen and with a stripe of dack blue. The hardness vary from 6 to 6.5, but it could down to 2 when it's massive.
The pyrolusite is formed at oxidizing environments and with an elevated PH as could be Barcelona cause of the sea humidity. Usually is finded at lacustrine enviroments, shallow marine deposits and marshlands.
It's a common material all around the world and is extracted by electrolysis. The pirolusite is formed as a sedimentary stone by the deposition of the manganese at the lacustrine enviroments or the marshlands. Sometimes it's formed by the oxidation because of the climatology of other forms of the manganese.
We find huge pirolusite deposits at Georgia, India, Brasil, Ghana and Southafrica. In Spain the most important of them are in Asturias and Huelva.
