Selm Muir Wood - Heather Glade
A woodland comprising of mature Scots pines surrounded by younger Spruce trees in this working forest, with scatterings of Rowan, Birch and Willow. There's even an old Beech hedge: a clue that there's been woodland here for quite a while. It's a beautiful, peaceful place with plenty of woodland birds to spot. Walk along the network of mostly level forest roads, tracks and paths. There are no waymarked trails, but there’s a good network of mostly level forest roads, tracks and paths. The paths and tracks are uneven and muddy after rain in places. All caches are placed close the tracks, there is no need to bushwhack just stick to the tracks. Boots recommended.
