Geocache Description:

A short multi in St Erme

Church Micro 10036... Trispen Methodist

Cache Information

GC6T06A

A Short multi around Trispen methodist church.
Meant to originally get this out around church micro day, but was far too busy!.
Nothing too taxing - and a hopefully enjoyable walk..
St Erme, (Cornish: Egloserm), is situated in the Deanery and Hundred of Powder. It is bounded on the north by Newlyn East, on the east by Ladock and Probus, on the south by St Clement, and on the west by St Allen. A detached portion of the parish, comprising the Manor of Polsue, is bounded by the parishes of Probus and St Clement, and St Clement's Creek. The parish is named after St Hermes, a 3rd century Roman martyr. In was in this parish, at Tresillian Bridge, that a treaty was concluded in March 1646 between Sir Ralph Hopton and Sir Thomas Fairfax, by which Cornwall was surrendered to Parliament at the end of the English Civil War.
This parish is four miles north of Truro, sandwiched between the parishes of St Allen and Ladock. The main village is St Erme with Trispen, which is actually composed of two neigbouring villages, St Erme and Trispen. At one time St Erme had the church, school and village hall while Trispen had the pub, post office, and chapel. Agriculture no longer provides the main employment and the area has become a dormitory area for Truro.
Trispen methodist church may not look particularly ornate, but it has been serving the parish of St Erme since 1846.
It is still a fairly active church, and part of the community. Unlike other chapels in Cornwall which have been increasingly turned into lavish accommodation.

Please pick up after your dog on this walk. There can be farm animals loose along the trail to the final - so please bear this in mind.

Please try not to remove, disturb or damage anything whilst enjoying this multi

Cache is a small lock and lock with room for smaller swaps and TBs.

The walk can get a little muddy, so I suggest a good pair of boots or walking shoes - or other suitable footwear.
There is parking within the village however do not block houses or drives. You cannot drive to the final location.
There are other enjoyable caches in the area set by Kazcam, Mountainbiker36 and Grassman. I fully recommend all of them if you have not found them already.
There are beautiful views, quiet lanes to enjoy.
You can turn this into a circular by continuing on from the final, then looping back along a quiet farm track .
Questions to answer The First Waypoint should be in front of the Methodist Church. There is a sign on the front of the church indicating when services are. At what HOUR is the first Sunday service? = AA .

Walk to the the Second Waypoint, which should be some hydrant markers on the edge of a triangle. The bottom number printed on the Yellow marker gives you B .

The Third Waypoint, is a postbox. The Postbox Number is TR4 1C0 .

Walk to the Forth Waypoint, A pedestrian crossing. Look at the base of the light marker nearest the shop and there is a number beginning MS. What is the last digit? = D .

Walk to the Fifth Waypoint - you should find a light reference. The last digit is = E .

Walk to the Final Waypoint, another postbox. Take the HOUR of the Saturday collection away from the HOUR of the Weekday collections= F .

Final can be located at :- N50 19.DC(B+D) W005 01.(A+A)EF

The walk to the final can get quite muddy - so I suggest a good set of boots. It is possible to make the walk to the final circular, which is about 4 miles in total. Or just head back the way you came. The walk around the village is about a mile, and the walk to the final from the last waypoint is about another mile.

FTF Prize? The glowing feeling of knowing you found some hidden tupperware before someone else :P
