The Port Rowan Bayfest is an annual festival held during the Labour Day weekend. The original celebration started back in the late 80's and was called Tomato Fest but by 2001 a name change came about and it has been known as Bayfest ever since.
Starting on Friday, Bayfest features three days of activities for the young and old, individuals to families and groups. Various community organizations host breakfasts to dinners each day and on Sunday afternoon, the annual parade attracts many spectators. In the evening, the crowds begin to gather and boats start to appear on the bay as live entertainers take to the stage by the docks in Lions Park. Then as darkness falls on Sunday, the pier becomes a celebration of light, as fireworks are launched over the bay concluding the weekend festivities.
