This cache has been archived.

Leptoceratops: Hello!
I'm archiving your cache as it has been disabled for more than a one month and it is lost or completely damaged. Usually caches are visited and maintained within 30 days after disabling.
If you wish to unarchive your cache then please contact me using GC code or link of this cache.

If there are still leftovers from container I would appreaciate if other players could collect them so that there are no trash in the nature.

Happy geocaching!

Geocache Description:

Geocaching is a game in which the treasures of the world are sought with the help of GPS equipment, and Latvian bridges are a key part of this chest of riches. These are strategically important structures that link two sides of a river and require ongoing oversight and maintenance. Without bridges we would be limited in time, space and opportunities. Sadly, many of our bridges are crumbling, rusting and becoming deformed. Make sure that you look at these bridges before they have collapsed! The bridge over the Brasla River, the Plācis-Eiķēni gravel quarry, VO324. The first bridge over the Brasla River was made of wood, but it was replaced in 1993. The bridge is 28 metres long and 7, 7 metres wide. The council of the district purchased structures for the bridge from a former Soviet army base in Cēsis, and so a metal bridge could be built in a location that is very close to Straupe. The bridge was seen as temporary so that the Eiķēni gravel quarry could be accessed, but it has now been used for more than 20 years. The only improvements during that period are that the bridge has sometimes been painted. At one time it was used actively, but now traffic is much lesser across it.
