Geocache Description:

Cows have been with us since the early Neolithic period, occupying an important role in our development as a society and culture. This is in tribute to that ubiquitous bovine that has made such an important contribution to the history of the wild, wild, west, including some of history's more famous mavericks .

All caches are along the frontage road and are not accessed from the freeway.

Salem Sue, billed as the largest Holstein cow in the world, is a fiberglass sculpture near Salem, North Dakota. Built in 1974 at a cost of $40,000, Salem Sue was commissioned by the local Lions Club commemorating the area's dairy industry. She stands 38' by 50' and is visible for miles around.
