Geocache Description:

Over the course of my caching travels, I have noticed that many of my favourite "bush/adventure caches" seem to share one very similar ingredient...

Welcome to "D2,4T Challenge (The Dutchmans Stern)"

This Difficulty/terrain rating has an over representation in my stats, but for a good reason: they all seem to be a really good cache! I have come to the conclusion that this seems to be the perfect "classic bush/adventure cache." This will provide a little incentive to get out and find a few more!

The Rules

1. Participants must find 24 or more caches rated at EXACTLY Difficulty 2, Terrain 4
2. These can be found in any order, no time limits or any other snags.
3. Post a list of your qualifying caches that you will receive from the Challenge Checker (see below image)
**Also feel free to share which of these you enjoyed the most. After all, this is to help bring to light some of those outstanding caches. This is NOT require for finding the cache but encouraged.

Getting There

Getting into GZ can be done two ways, however, the recomended route is to leave the car at the parking coordinates. Probably easiest to have a higher clearence 2wd, but AWD or 4x4 is just over kill. From here Follow the firetrail and all signs for the great north walk. Once near the reference point, stay on top of the ridge to GZ. The ridge is really quite picturesque with some excellent views of the valley and nice, easy open woodland walking.

The total trek is a bit over 10km round trip, but I really wouldn't rate it any higher than a terrain 3, basically just for distance. The T4 is just to reflect the nature of the challenge. No precarious climbing required at GZ. Also, there is a water tank on the top of the hill ready for hikers use, however, it is just rainwater, you may want to think carefully, but it is there.

Happy Caching!!
