Misty Mountains
The Misty Mountains are a giant mountain range from the movie The hobbit – an unexpected journey. Bilbo Baggins and his party of dwarfs have to go there to reclaim the capital of the old dwarf kingdom from the dragon Smaug.
The cache
Near the base is this mountain here lies a camping from which my family and I watched another peak of this mountain. One day Geowebbie and I decided to climb the mountain to place a cache there. We decided to take a shortcut straight up… Soon the Maquis proved heavier than we thought. We reached the top, full of (bloody) scratches. But the view was worth it ! Geowebbie decided to name this peak Clawtooth Mountain. From that peak we saw a peak even slightly higher. Geowebbie decided to name this mountain Misty Mountains. Not that there was must mist at the time, but it sounded fun 😉. Apparently there is also a path to both peaks from the deserted village Oggi, below, from the south. But if you are not fainthearted, you take the west-route we took, via Clawtooth Mountain … From there it’s only a short walk to the Misty Mountains. But you can also just concentrate on the Misty Mountains.
The cache is a medium size Tupperware box. Place it back the way you found (or better, when it was visible).
