Cette petite chapelle est située en bordure de l’ancien chemin des diligences.
C’est un oratoire avec la Vierge tenant son fils dans ses bras, adossé au rocher, dans une clairière aménagée en forme d’esplanade.
Il est dédié à Notre Dame des sept douleurs et rappelle la souffrance de la mère du Christ depuis sa naissance jusqu’à sa mort.
L’oratoire a été fondé en 1702 par le révérend Michel Carrier et a bénéficié d’une restauration en 1938.
C’était une des étapes des pèlerinages organisés en cortège et qui cheminaient depuis Argentière.
La tradition orale indique qu’on aurait essayé de bâtir une église en ce lieu.
Un creux, situé en amont de l’oratoire et alimenté par une zone marécageuse, était rempli d’eau.
Certains s’y seraient lavés les yeux et les plaies.
Un panneau indique que « De nombreuses grâces et guérisons ont été obtenues en invoquant Notre Dame des sept douleurs à cet oratoire. »
La roche sous-jacente est du granite du Mont Blanc recouvert par des formations glaciaires (blocs de la moraine)

This small chapel is located along the old road named « path of the diligences » .
It is an oratory with the Virgin holding her son in her arms, leaning against the rock, in a converted clearing shaped plaza .
It is dedicated to « Our Lady of Seven Pains » and recalls the suffering of the mother of Christ from his birth to his death.
The oratory was founded in 1702 by Rev. Michel Carrier and benefited from a recovery in 1938 .
It was one of the steps of pilgrimages in the procession from Argentiere.
Oral tradition indicates that we have tried to build a church in that place.
A hollow , located upstream of the oratory and powered by a marshy area was filled with water. Some of them would be washed eyes and wounds.
A sign indicates that "Many graces and healings were obtained by invoking « Our Lady of Seven Pains » in the oratory ."
The underlying rock is « granite Mont Blanc » covered by glacial formations (blocks of Moraine )
