Geocache Description:

Those numbers up there?
Why, they’re not right at all!
They might lead to a lake or a road or a wall!
To get the right numbers, we have puzzles for you.
You’ll read, think and solve them, that’s just what you’ll do!

To honor the doctor, we decided to stash
Some "fun-in-a-box" (our first* geocache).

So go find Thing 1 — and after you do,

Use the numbers inside it to go find Thing 2.

To find them, you’ll have to to do much more than look.
You’ll have to know “things” from the good doctor’s books.

Each clue has a blank and each blank needs a word,
For instance: Horton’s lazy Mayzie is a _________.

A bird? Yes, indeed!
Now letter-count that word…
One, two, three, four — that’s the value of “bird.”

And now put that number in the place where we say.
Just fill up each space, and you’re well on your way!

Program your unit, then follow your feet
(The route takes you nowhere near Mulberry Street!).

This was hidden by Seuss-loving Kate and her mother,
Who know that if it’s not one Thing, it’s another!

*Well, it was our first cache the first time it was placed,
But then it was stolen (green egg on our face).
So now we've redone it and placed it anew
...a Seussian stash for cache-hunters like you!

This area closes at dusk. High traffic area, so please be very discreet while searching and trading. When we placed this cache the first time, Thing 1 was muggled several times (it seems our Dr. Seuss tins were just too attractive to the local kids). Now Thing 1 is very "attractive," but in a different way (yes, that is a hint). Thing 1 is a small container, and Thing 2 is a medium lock’n’lock. Please be kind to any underbrush so there's not a geotrail to the hide.

FTF includes a certificate, a trackable FTF medallion, two Things, one thing and a little some"thing" to help you acquire some Seuss of your own. Enjoy!

Congratulations on FTF to david&diana and Ranger Fox! ("Did you find our hidden box? Did you find it with a fox?")

Congratulations on FTL to yercher! ("Have you ever seen or heard of the Yercher? That speedy and stealthy and super cache-searcher?")

To all of you...
"...a tip of our top hat that's striped white and red....we'll give a big tip, then it's back on our head!"
