Geocache Description:

A Fall CITO Event in honour of Ian Mitchell a.k.a. Inkyfiller. A founder of GEO (Geocachers of Eastern Ontario) and the driving force behind the very successful Spring CITO - SNCITO Events.

In late 2009, on a dark and stormy night, a group of people met in Casselman with the idea of promoting geocaching in the area of Eastern Ontario outside Ottawa. The ringleader of this crew was InkyFiller who felt that we could be doing a much better job. It turns out he was right. We have held seven very successful Spring CITO events known as SNCITO.

In late July 2016, we were all saddened to hear that Ian was unable to beat the cancer that he had been fighting so valiantly. Starkiller and I met to discuss what we could do to honour Ian and all his contributions to geocaching in Eastern Ontario and beyond. Immediately, we though of a CITO event. Ian is a passionate environmentalist and environmental stewardship is something that he always encouraged. Our hope is that this Fall CITO will be the first of many annual events held in his honour.

Location: The Ferguson Forest Centre in Kemptville
Time: 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Details: More to come shortly, but North Grenville will be providing CITO supplies and we are working on providing some food to attendees.
