Jacob's Ladder Beach is at the western end of Sidmouth. It mainly consists of pebbles, but at low tide there is a large expanse of sand and plenty of rock pools.
The pebbles are legally protected, as it is actually an offence to remove them.
The beach is accessed either down the slope from the road or via the level millennium walkway from the main Sidmouth beach, or by descending the wooden steps (Jacob's Ladder) from Connaught Gardens.
