Geocache Description:

Part of a series taking you to some of our favourite places to spend time in Toronto.

The Queen/Saulter Library is located at 765 Queen St E. The building also houses the Ralph Thornton Centre and the South Riverdale Child-Parent Centre.

The library was originally located a short distance away but was relocated to Postal Station G in 1980. This means that the library really doesn't look like one from the outside. There are huge wooden double doors at the entrance and two story sandstone pillars on the Queen Street side of the building. Inside there is still some evidence of the buildings post office roots. The front desk is made from the granite counter used in the post office.

To the rear of the library is June Callwood way. June was an author, journalist and social activist in Toronto. To celebrate her legacy, Toronto Public Library hosts a number of lectures on Toronto and urban living.
