Torre da Prata Traditional Geocache

Com 1497 metros de altitude, a Torre da Prata é o ponto culminante da Serra da Prata, conhecida por ter uma visão privilegiada do litoral. O caminho até o cache passa por três tipos diferentes de floresta.

At 1497m above the sea, Torre da Prata (Prata's Tower) Serra da Prata's (Silver Mountain Range) highest peak and is well known for it's privileged view of the coast line. The trail to the cache goes through three different types of forests.

O Geocache / The Geocache

O geocache é um pote plástico preto e está posicionado no cume da Torre da Prata, sendo necessário 4 a 6 horas de caminhada para encontrá-lo.

The geocache is a black plastic container and is positioned at the top of the mountain, a 4 to 6 hour hike is required to reach it.

Acesso / Access

Usar o Google Maps ou outro serviço de GPS automotivo para chegar ao início da trilha. Uma vez lá, basta seguir a trilha, ela é bem marcada. Na primeira metade da trilha, existem algumas bifurcação, por isto é recomendado seguir um tracklog com o seu GPS (recomendo este: http://www.wikiloc.com/wikiloc/view.do?id=10770138). O caminho tem em torno de 8.5km horizontais e 1500 metros verticais e demora de 4 a 6 horas para chegar ao cache, com a possibilidade de se acampar perto do GZ.

Use Google Maps or another navigation system to reach the trailhead. Once there, just follow the trail as it's well maintained. Because there are a few forks on the first half of the trail, it is recommended to follow a tracklog using your GPS (I recommend this one: http://www.wikiloc.com/wikiloc/view.do?id=10770138). The trail is approximately 8.5km long and 1500 meters high and it takes from 4 to 6 hours to reach the cache, with the possibility of camping near the GZ.
