En 1890, sur l’emplacement d’un ancien moulin médiéval appelé « des Cinq Cannelles », la Société DOIZAN et C ie implante une centrale électrique qui a permis aux Bergeracois de voir l’avènement de la Fée Électricité et d’en découvrir l’usage.
Cette entreprise pionnière à Bergerac a permis très tôt de passer de l’éclairage au gaz à l’éclairage électrique. Elle retint d’exploiter la force hydraulique avec la chute d’eau du moulin des Cinq Cannelles et fait le choix judicieux de greffer l’usine électrique sur cet ancien moulin établi sur un canal souterrain qui traverse la ville. Cela avait l’immense avantage de positionner l’usine au centre du tissu urbain qu’elle entendait alimenter en électricité.
ATTENTION : Le lieu est parfois très fréquenté rendant la recherche de la cache moins aisée. La cache doit être remise exactement au même endroit pour ne pas être vue et le logbook et son mécanisme devront être maniés avec précaution.
