A Puzzling Series # 01 Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

21alpine: This series has had a good run. Due to many changes in the area, with new homes, posted properties and trees being removed, sadly I have decided to archive the series. Thank you to all who found and/or may have maintained any of the caches.

Geocache Description:

A Puzzling Series is a series of caches with information hidden within the containers. You will need to gather this info to help you solve Mystery Puzzle GC6MFP5 A Puzzling Cache.

I have been thinking about what I was going to do with this awsome container my brother gave me last summer for quite a while now. Should I make it a puzzle cache? Or maybe a Multicache? Or maybe it would be better if I just did a Traditional hide.

One day while I was out, I decided to stop into a local drug store and ask if they had any empty 35mm film containers they wanted to get rid of. I don't know why I thought of checking. It just popped into my head. Once I had them at home, I started prepping them. Not for any particular reason, but I figured I would start getting them ready.

As I was working, my mind started thinking about how I was going to use them. Then suddenly, I remembered the awsome container. I began wondering what I should do with it, and slowly this idea began to form in my head.

There are two types of information that you will need to gather. First you will need numbers to match up for the correct coordinates to the cache, and second, you will need to gather a series of words which you must put into the correct order to get a hint for the hide. All the info was placed randomly in no particular order. Not every container will have anything you will need, but be sure to check and record the info. A notebook would be very useful to record the info.

I used a waterproof material for all the caches in the series. Be sure to bring a good writing instrument with you to sign the log. Not all pens like to write on this material. I find an ultra fine point sharpie or felt marker works best if you have one.

Be advised: While placing this series I encountered poison ivy at a few of the placements. Be watchful and take precautions and you should be all set. However, if you're like me and not affected by it, then do what I did and just walk through it!

I did not encounter any ticks while placing this series, but that doesn't mean you won't! Be sure to check yourself after finding each cache or wear some sort of repellent. A mosquito repellent might be a good idea too, depending on the weather.

Above all, be safe and have fun!
