Geocache Description:

This cache forms part of a series of caches placed along a recognised heritage trail which follows the course taken by the North Cork Militia and British Cavalry, ending up at Oulart Hill, where a decisive battle took place which lit the flame that culminated in a republic being declared in Wexford and a major uprising in Wexford, Wicklow and the East Coast of Ireland.

This is an interesting location on the route of the historic trail. The official trail currently runs up the hill along the roads to the monument on the top of the hill, however at this point it is hoped in the future to take the trail from this point on on a different route to the final location.

The future route is actually taken each year on the annual official organised walk that takes place on the last weekend of every August.
