Geocache Description:

Part of a series taking you to some of our favourite places to spend time in Toronto.

Fort York is one of the newer libraries of Toronto Public Library and is located at 190 Fort York Boulevard, just a short walk from the Fort York National Historical Site.

The outside of the branch features lines of poetry from Canadian author Margaret Atwood and "fins" dividing the windows on the west side of the building were designed by artist Charles Pachter.

Fort York Library has an "Urban Living Room" with a large-screen TV and a large collection of magazines and newspapers.  This library is one of three in Toronto Public Library with a Digital Innovation Hub. (Toronto Reference and Scarborough Civic Centre are the others) This Hub has 3D printers, scanners, studio space with a green screen and audio/visual equipment, Arduinos and Raspberry Pis.

Canoe Landing Park, which is about a 5-10 minute walk east of the library, features a splash pad, artificial turf field and a number of public art pieces (including a giant red canoe) by Canadian novelist and artist Douglas Coupland.
