Visoki Mavrinc je manj znani vrh v bližini Vršiča, s katerega se ponuja odličen razgled na vse strani neba. V lepem vremenu boste videli Kranjsko goro, jezero Jasna, dolino Krnice in Vršič, pa tudi Špik, Prisank in Mojstrovko.
Nanj ne vodi nobena markirana pot, izbirate pa lahko med dvema nemarkiranima:
- Pod Kočo na Gozdu se začne krajša in bolj obiskana, po kateri lahko vrh dosežete v dobri uri.
- Nad drugo serpentino ceste na Vršič je izhodišče daljše poti po dolini Za Kumlehom, za katero boste potrebovali 2 uri. Orientacija na tej je nekoliko zahtevnejša, a so v pomoč možici. Del poti skozi gozd je tudi dodatno otežen zaradi podrtega drevja, ki pa ga pot pretežno obide.
Obe poti se srečata na sedlu zahodno od vrha, kjer možic označuje začetek še zadnjega dela poti na vrh.
Oba pristopa lahko združite tudi v krožno pot: povzpnete se po daljši in sestopite po krajši, do izhodišča pa se vrnete po markirani poti z Vršiča v Kranjsko Goro. V tem primeru lahko spotoma poiščete še dva zaklada: GC1DGA4 in GC2P6N9.

Visoki Mavrinc is a less known mountain near Vršič, offering a beautiful view in all directions. In sunny weather you can see Kranjska Gora, lake Jasna, Krnica valley an Vršič pass, as well as Špik, Prisank and Mojstrovka.
There are no marked paths leading to it, but you choose between two unmarked ones:
- The shorter and more frequented path starts below Koča na Gozdu mountain hut. You will require a little over an hour to reach the peak.
- The longer path through Za Kumlehom valley starts above the second turn on the road to Vršič pass and will take you about 2 hours. It is a bit more difficult to navigate, but there are stone cairns to help you. A section of the path through the woods is also made more difficult because of many fallen trees, although the path tries its best to avoid them.
Both paths meet at the ridge west of the summit where a stone cairn is marking the start of the path to the summit.
You can also combine both approaches into a round trip, ascending along the second path and descending along the first one. The marked path from Vršič pass to Kranjaska Gora will then take you back to the starting point. IN this case you can find two more caches along the way: GC1DGA4 in GC2P6N9.
