This cache is located in Peter Lougheed Provincial Park (Kananaskis Country). Specifically, it is located a few metres off the interpretive trail along the shore of Marl Lake which is adjacent to the Elkwood campground.
The cache is located near what we call the “echo” place. We were there with our grandchildren about 12 years ago where we discovered the distinct echo when one yells (or yodels!) at the mountain range across the lake. Sit on the bench and try it! The access is family friendly and all will enjoy the interpretive trail to the cache location. The interpretive loop is only 1.6 km and it has several benches for rest stops including the benches at the lake side. Drive into the Elkwood Campground to Loop “D”. The public is allowed to park at the trailhead near campsite 115. It is an easy walk from there. Bring a picnic! If you want a longer stroll, park at the amphitheatre and follow the signs.
The cache is a camouflaged LnL container which holds paper, pencil and a few trading goodies.
