This geocache is part of a series made up of 6 caches hidden around Nymans Woods at Nymans, a National Trust property in Handcross, near Haywards Heath, West Sussex UK.
The trail is based around the main paths through the woods and should take between 1 hour and 1 and a half hours to complete. The series was set up as an activity for visitors to Nymans and as such it is a child and family friendly trail. This means that many first time geocachers will visit these caches so it’s probably not wise to leave geocoins or travel bugs as they may be swapped out by mistake.
The latest trail has a series of informative cards about the diverse and rare species that live in the woodland and give it a "Site of Special Scientific Interest" designation from Natural England. Nymans Woods is a beautiful, ancient woodland managed primarily for wildlife conservation.
The woods are open at all times to the public and there is a National Trust car park close by but make sure that you check the opening and closing times before you park up. Alternatively, there is a public footpath leading to the woods from Staplefield Road in Handcross village.
Good luck, and happy caching!
