Case Details
It all started with a call from Jose, a visiting friend from Halifax …
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
M: “Geo” (yep my friends sometimes address me by my initials, but I digress). “Geo! I was on a walk with my family and encountered the most bizarre thing. We were solving a puzzle, like we always enjoy doing, when the puzzle we were working on evaporated into thin Air!”.
G: “Jose? Jose Cito Maxwell ya ‘ol dog, is that you?”
M: “Who else Geo?”
G: “Hey, are you in Winnipeg?”
M: “Yep, caching while on vacae of course! But we’ve stumbled upon quite the puzzle and could really use your expertise and keen mind.”
G: “Flattery will get you everywhere. Sure I’ll help you. So you said the puzzle you were working on evaporated into thin air?”
M: “Yes“
G: “As in it just disappeared?”
M: “Sort of, yes. Let me explain. We were enjoying the weather caching in the River Park South area of the city signing all the traditionals we could find ending with the "What in the Warde" series and then we decided to start working on the many puzzles in the area. We found a bench to work on some of the close by puzzles to see if any were quick solves and resolved in the general area so we could sign in. My wife solved one so we started walking to it when the puzzle I was scribbling notes on seemed to all make sense and I knew where to look for the cache. Then, just as suddenly, the solution I had figured out basically just became invisible!”
G: “Invisible?” I asked doubtfully. “Were you writing with one of those invisible ink pens or lemon juice?”
M: “Of course not!”
G: “Listen Jose, I know you guys sometimes like to have a few of those wonderful long island ice teas at lunch. Was today one of those type of lunches?”
M: “I swear, Geo the only thing we’ve been drinking all day is pure H2O!”
G: “In that case, that truly is quite strange... Do you remember any of the solution you figured out?”
M: “Not much. Just the obvious N 49 CC.CCC W 097 U.UUU”
G: “Hmm… Not much indeed, but I do have an idea where to find the coordinates again...”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So that is the case, the only thing I know for sure is that the solution will provide a set of solved co-ordinates like so many a puzzles do. But how to obtain the co-ordinates is the puzzle in and of itself. Just to let you know, my Halifax friend and I did indeed solve the puzzle and make it to the final cache location, but we left the log blank waiting for you to solve it too. My initial hunch was right and with the use of a TOTT, the cache was soon in hand. Good luck!

Any logs giving away the solution or dropping obvious hints will be deleted immediately and with-out notice! Puzzles can require a lot of work to setup and I want cachers to get the full experience ranging from frustration to elation. If no one solves for a long time, hints will be added. I'm also typically willing to drop subtle hints via email if you have truly been working hard to get a solution. If the puzzle remains unsolved (or solved by very few), after a while I will start adding additional hints to it
To preserve the caching experience, please replace the hide as found. Coordinates are an average of multiple attempts and fine tuned with google maps.
What's with the bracket stuff in the title you may be wondering?
It's simply my personal identifier. The last letter (or sometimes the only letter) refers to the hide itself and choices will be:
Traditional style of hide - typically the hide should be a typical container hidden in a "typical" caching way
Kid friendly hide - child reachable, findable and room for tradeables. Aimed at the little cachers.
and Evil style of hide - Something about it that makes me rub my hands together maniacally in anticipation. Perhaps more unique camo, different hiding technique, lots of options at GZ...
If there is two letters together, the first will refer to the style of cache. Puzzle, Multi, Earth, Letterbox etc.
The number after the dash simply is the number of hides in that series for me. Don't expect this number to get too big.
No FTF certificate available, but I will list out the "firsts" later (First to Sign/Find and First to Log Find Electronically)
