Geocache Description:

One of four caches around this historic and well-kept cemetery.

This cemetery was established in 1875 and is the final resting place of a number of notable Queens residents (including Millie Tunnell, a former slave who died at age 111 in 1896).

You do not need to enter the grounds or even leave the sidewalk to find the cache, but of course please be respectful of any mourners and of the importance of the location. I'm told there may be poison ivy along the fence, but luckily you do not need to go near the fence.

The cemetery itself is well-kept and serene. A self-guided walking tour map is available on the Friends of Maple grove website here.
