Geocache Description:

The Church of Morvah with Pendeen is dedicated to St Bridget of Sweden. The cache contains a stamp and pad, making this cache a letterbox hybrid. A straightforward hide. Please bear in mind that the path to the GZ can be muddy.

The hamlet of Morvah has strong links with nearby Pendeen and is one of the two Parishes presided over by Reverend Karsten, Ermelo, Pendeen. Formally part of Madron Parish, the church is now with Pendeen Church (Penwith Pilgrim Churches) If you have time, do visit Morvah Schoolhouse which serves refreshments and is an excellent outlet for local artists

St Bridget of Sweden...

She was something of a celebrity during the Middle Ages. Born in 1303 in Upland, Sweden. She died in 1373 in Rome, Italy. At the age of 10 she is said to have had a vision of Jesus hanging on the cross. When she asked who had treated him like this, he answered, "They who despise me, and spurn my love for them." From that time on, the Passion of Christ became the focus of her spiritual life. She is said to have been related to the Royal house of Sweden and to have married at the age of 14. She had eight children, of which six survived. She became known for her caring attitude and for the visions.

After the death of her husband, Bridget developed the idea of establishing the religious community which was to become the Order of the Most Holy Saviour, or the Brigittines, whose principal house at Vadstena was later richly endowed by King Magnus IV of Sweden and his queen. (More info can be found inside the church porch) One distinctive feature of the pre-Reformation houses of the Order was that they were double monasteries, with both men and women forming a joint community, though with separate cloisters. They were to live in poor convents and to give all surplus income to the poor. However, they were allowed to have as many books as they pleased.
She was canonised in 1391. Patron saint of widows.

When you reach the trailhead you will notice a farm house. What is it's name? Ok..count the number of letters in each word. A = the number of letters in the first word. B = the number of letters in the second word. Cache can be found at N50 09.AA0 W05 38.(A-B)0(A+2)

Please leave the stamp and pad in the cache, returning it to the bag so that it remains usable. Many thanks.
