Hutchinson River Parkway
Hutchinson River Parkway at Saxon Woods.
Glass Lantern Slide by Edward van Altena, 1930.
Westchester County Archives
To find this cache, proceed to the posted coordinates, which are at a hiking trail underpass that connects the northern and southern section of Saxon Woods County Park. You will cross underneath the Hutchinson River Parkway. Look up, and count the massive steel beams that carry the parkway lanes and the 23S exit ramp above.
Exit ramp: (A) steel beams
Northbound (towards Connecticut) lane: (B) steel beams
Southbound (towards Bronx) lane: (CD) steel beams (yes, two digits)
If your (A) is smaller than your (B) which is smaller than your (CD), you probably counted right.
The cache is at N40°58.(B)(D)6' W073.45.(A-3)(C+D)0'. It isn't quite adjacent, you'll have to take a little hike.
Obviously, the cache cannot be reached from the parkway. Use the posted parking coordinates, and don't stop on the parkway!
