Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries
You should visit the listed coordinates to find two simple numbers for solving the final location. The place can be reached via a long staircase that begins at a small chapel (Crkva Sv. Jure, from the 9th century) and descends down to a nice little beach. You can see the red-tiled roof of the Institute of Oceanography on your left-hand side when going down the stairs. The institute was founded in 1930. Currently it employs some 90 persons and has two small research vessels for carrying out research in the Adriatic. www.izor.hr
At the beach you should find an interesting big block of concrete with X round pillars sticking out of it, good for sitting and watching the sea. Look around, there’s also a very important message to someone called Anja, written in red letters. The message is so important that it has been equipped with Y exclamation marks (!).
You can find the cache at
43 30.[500 + 5*X]
16 23.[300 + 16*Y - X]
Beware of spikes at the final location and be careful, especially with kids. Please cover the cache well but do not place stones or anything heavy on top of it, otherwise the lid will break.
Extra task (optional) for children and people who are young at heart! Look closely at your feet on the beach and complement your log with a photo of the most interesting object you can find. There are stones in funny shapes, pieces of glass in different colours, beautiful pinecones… maybe feathers of seagulls, a message in a bottle, pirate treasures? Who knows what secrets the sea can bring!
