The world's longest continuously-burning lightbulb is one of Livermore's claims to fame. It has been burning continuously since 1901, with a short time off when it was moved in 1976. I obtained permission from the Livermore/Pleasanton Fire Department to make it a virtual cache. You can go see the bulb any time during normal office hours (8 AM to 5 PM Mon-Fri) or at other times by appointment.
For more information on the light bulb, see the Official Centennial Light Web Site. It has a very interesting history!
To log this cache, you must go to the location, see the lightbulb, sign the guestbook, and email me the answer to this question:
- For how long was the light turned off when it was moved in 1976?
