2002 Picnic Memorial: Determination and Deet Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Markwell: I had thought I could get back out and maintain this cache, but time has caught up with me, and I'm scaling back the number of caches I own.

As much as I hate to see this one go, I'm going to archive it with the hopes that someone else can place a cache in a nearby spot.

Thanks for all of the finders.

Geocache Description:

A Memorial Cache to the 2002 Chicagoland Geocaching Picnic.

Contributions from many different cachers went in to this cache. While at the 2002 Picnic on Sunday, June 30, we had this location as a temporary cache for the day, and the first finders all agreed it was a good enough location to place the permanent memorial cache.

Warning:
The trails end 10 feet into the forest. There are no trails to this cache! Although difficulty and terrain of this cache should be MUCH easier in the late fall, winter, and early spring, the foliage was such that signal lock was tough, and there are many thorns and eye level bushes in the forest. Watch out for possible poison ivy.

Best of luck, and congrats to ClayJar, The Dolphin and Dr Spyro for finding this one during the picnic! A Special Thanks to Dolphin, who took the ammo box back out to the site after the picnic!
