Geocache Description:

Number 455 in a series of caches where an old style (normally red) telephone box is in close proximity to a post box.
The only rules are that they have to be able to be photographed together, be not more than 100’ apart and the phone boxes have to be of the old style (design K1 - K8). Normally this would read that they must be "red" phone boxes but we are a little different in these parts.

At GZ you should find a classic red pillar style letterbox and an old style telephone box. In most parts of the country this would be a red phone box and this series celebrates the pairing of two classic British icons in matching colours. However, in Hull and Beverley we have an anomaly in that the phone system is owned by an independent telephone company, namely Kingston Communications. Hence all phone boxes in the area are white and not red. Both are to be found in the Wednesday Market of Beverley where market stalls are still to be found on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

To find the cache you need to find two pieces of information. The telephone number of the public telephone is (01482) ABCDEF and nearby John Hillman is remembered, born in GHJK and died in 2007.

The cache can be found at N 53 50. E C (H-D)  W 000 25. K (F-G) B

Cache placed with kind permission of the management. We'd love to see your photos of the fine pair but NOT of the final cache location. Please make sure you sign the log book, find logs without a signature in the logbook will be deleted.

The Fine Pair series was originally started by wizardsmum but is now managed by mattd2k.

If anybody would like to place 'A Fine Pair' of their own please do. I would just ask that you first visit www.afinepair.co.uk to request a number to avoid any duplication.

mattd2k also keeps a public Bookmark List of this series. Once your cache is published please contact him via at geocachingafinepair@gmail.com to have yours added.
