Smurfy New Year Mystery Cache

Baker Smurf was about to prepare the Smurfberry pies for the Smurf Year's festivities when he caught Greedy Smurf finishing off all the smurfberries that were collected the day before.

Baker Smurf complained ever-so-loudly to Papa Smurf who immediately sent Harmony Smurf and Poet Smurf off to the community Smurfberry patch to begin picking. Baker Smurf noted that Harmony Smurf and Poet Smurf contributed two and four smurfushels of Smurfberries, respectively, before reporting that the community Smurfberry patch was wiped out.

Papa Smurf then went to Farmer Smurf to ask if the Smurf's could pick at his top secret Smurfberry patch in order to save the Smurf Year's festivities. Farmer Smurf agreed if he was allowed to select which Smurfs would do the picking. He dismissed Harmony Smurf and Poet Smurf because they might include information about the location in a musical score or poem. Naturally, he selected Papa Smurf and Smurfette as the most trustworthy to keep his location secret. Surprisingly, he selected Lazy Smurf, Joker Smurf, and Greedy Smurf because they were rather poor at orienteering.

Brainy Smurf, who was not chosen, volunteered to stay behind to count the smurfushels of berries, as they were emptied into a large vat, to ensure that the Smurfberry pies would have exactly the correct amount of filling. Each Smurf collected a full smurfushel of Smurfberries on each trip to the Smurfberry patch.

Brainy Smurf used a grid to tally each smurfushel as it was delivered. He put photos of the Smurfberry pickers in the grid and then added to the tallies by row and column as each Smurf returned with a full smurfushel of Smurfberries. He also was able to encode the coordinates to Farmer Smurf's top secret Smurfberry patch based on the number of trips each Smurf made to the patch. Regrettably, he lost track of the individual contributions and without that, he couldn't decode the coordinates to the top secret Smurfberry patch.
