This is a film canister, just hanging out, winter friendly. It is closer to the trail than the trunks.
The SPNHF owns the trail, but not the summit with the cabin. But, the cabin is open and there are three log books inside with entries as far back as 1988. I first visited on December 15. Just under two weeks later there were 30 more entries. The public is obviously welcome.
