gingko: I think it is only appropriate to archive this cache as under the current Covid situation geocaching is way down on my list of priorities as I would rather keep safe for work.

Geocache Description:

St Michael's church is located in the village of Barford St Michael on the edgeofthe river Swere. The village is sometimes known as Great Barford as it has its sister village Barford St John is on the other side of the river/

The 12th century church of St Michael is just beyond the village green.

The bell tower, north doorwell and font are Norman but much of the rest of the church was rebuilt in the 13th century in an early English gothic style.

The porch on the north side of the building is decorated with Norman beakheads that look like the faces of wild animals.
