Events are the social side of geocaching. At any of the various types of events you will meet others who are participating in the sport. You will find hiders of the caches you found - or could not find - and see the faces behind the creative, and maybe difficult, caches. Those who attend regularly will tell you that some of their best friends are those they met at a geocaching event. If you would like company while out in the wild come to an event; there is usually someone there who would enjoy your company.
In over 8 1/2 years at the sport I have attended over 100 events. I am the benefactor of many geocaching friends and being a part of small groups that have gone after some of the physically challenging finds and caches runs where 20 or 50 or 100 caches are to be found in one outing.
Check out the various types of events at the end of this page. If you are a Premium Member you can be notified via e-mail of events that is scheduled near you.
