Petite explication sur le titre de cette cache
Le recyclage d’abord :
C’est de nos jours une activité heureusement devenue habituelle pour notre environnement.
Tout le monde le connait pour le verre, le papier et le carton, les plastiques, les métaux, les piles et les batteries, etc…
L’objet de ce recyclage ensuite :
Je ne pense pas que beaucoup aient déjà entendu parler de ce recyclage de chaussures en robes !
Vous avez des excuses car il s’agit en fait de recyclage de bâtiments.
Pour cette cache je vous invite à passer d'abord par le waypoint qui nous amène devant le Tribunal d’Instance de Villeurbanne:
Je vois déjà les plus perspicaces deviner d’où vient l’allusion aux robes !
Mais quid des chaussures ???
Vous avez simplement devant vous les bâtiments qui ont abrité les usines de chaussures Bally‑Camsat du début du 20ème siècle (probablement en 1910) jusqu’en 1998, date de la fermeture du site.
L’historique du recyclage de ce bâtiment :
Après la fermeture du site en 1998, l’ensemble est devenu ce qu’il est convenu d’appeler une friche industrielle avec des bâtiments plus ou moins murés, plus ou moins squattés et évidemment plus ou moins insalubres comme c’est malheureusement trop souvent le cas.
2006 voit lancé le projet de restauration de ces bâtiments.
Je parle même de recyclage car contrairement à la plupart des projets immobiliers, celui-ci ne se contente pas de détruire purement et simplement les bâtiments pour bâtir sur un terrain nu.
Pendant des mois les riverains ont pu voir ceux-ci vidés de leurs intérieurs.
Tous les murs sont restés en place et la restauration aux normes actuelles s’est totalement appuyée sur le bâti initial.
Ainsi donc si l’utilisation en est maintenant réservée aux robes, le patrimoine architectural de l’industrie villeurbannaise de la chaussure a pu être conservé.
Au waypoint initial vous pouvez en voir la façade d'entrée.
La cache qui est un peu plus loin au second waypoint (il vaut sans doute mieux éviter les aller-retours devant le tribunal!) vous en donnera une vue latérale.
Si l'architecture du début du 20ème vous intéresse n’hésitez pas à faire le tour du pâté de maisons pour en voir la façade arrière.
Puisqu'il est question de recyclage, évidemment la box devait suivre le mouvement. Sitôt dit CITO fait! Comme vous le verrez les composants de la box n'ont normalement pas cet usage...
Vous aurez besoin d’un crayon, normalement pas de pince à épiler, et définitivement pas d’outils autres que vos doigts pour l’ouvrir : sur cet aspect, et contrairement à son apparence c’est une petite micro comme les autres.
Quand vous l'aurez trouvée prenez garde à ne pas en faire tomber un morceau et remettez-la bien en place pour les suivants. Comme vous aurez peut-être été surpris en l'ouvrant:
- roulez le logbook bien serré sur la tige,
- insérez le dans le logement,
- remettez la bague plastique (que vous aurez pris soin de ne pas égarer ;-)!)
- reserrez bien la box en la fermant pour éviter les infiltrations de pluie.
Prévoir un crayon (comme toujours pour cette taille)

The purpose of the present recycling then :
I do not think many have heard of this recycling of shoes into dresses!
I apologize as actually it's recycling of buildings.
For this cache I invite you first to reach the waypoint that brings us to the Tribunal d'Instance of Villeurbanne.
I can already see the most insightful of you understanding the reference to dresses!
But what about the shoes ???
Well you are just facing buildings that have housed the Bally-Camsat shoe factories from the early 20th century (probably in 1910) until 1998, date of the closure of the site.
Now the history of this building recycling:
After site closure in 1998, it became what is known as an industrial wasteland with roughly walled buildings, more or less squatted and obviously more or less unhealthy as is unfortunately too often the case.
2006 sees launched the restoration project of the buildings.
I even speak of recycling because unlike most real estate projects, this one didn’t simply consist of destroying the buildings to build on vacant land.
For months the neighbours have seen them stripped of their interiors.
All the walls have remained in place and the restoration to current standards was fully supported on the original frame.
So if the use is now dedicated to “dresses”, the architectural heritage of the Villeurbanne shoe industry has been kept.
At the initial waypoint you can see the front façade.
The cache is a little further (it’s probably better to avoid round trips in front of the court!) where it will give you a side view.
If the architecture of the early 20th has any interest for you feel free to go around the block to see the back façade.
As we speak of recycling, the box obviously had to follow. No sooner (sitot in French) said CITO done! As you will see the box components do not normally have this use...
You will need a pencil, normally no tweezers, and definitely no tools other than your fingers to open it: on this aspect, and contrary to its appearance it is a small micro as others. Pull it gently but firmly and don't push to strongly when putting it back in place (it's nice not to push it completely).
When you have found it take care not to drop any piece and put it back in place for the next geocachers. As I imagine you might have been surprised when opening it:
- roll the logbook tightly on the pin,
- insert it in its drilled hole in the bolt,
- place the plastic ring (that I hope you won't have lost;-)!) around the logbook,
- tight firmly when closing the box to avoid rain entering it.
