Mogoşoaia Palace is situated about 10 kilometres from Bucharest. It was built between 1698-1702 by Constantin Brâncoveanu in what is called the Romanian Renaissance style or Brâncovenesc style. The palace bears the name of the widow of the Romanian boyar Mogoș, who owned the land it was built on.

Mogoşoaia Palace a fost construit între anii 1698-1702 de Constantin Brâncoveanu pe un teren ce a aparţinut soţiei boierului Mogoş, de la care vine şi numele ansamblului. Domeniul aparţinut familiei Brâncoveanu pentru aproximativ 120 de ani, pentru ca mai apoi să treacă în proprietatea familiei Bibescu. Palatul este realizat într-un stil românesc renascentist (brâncovenesc) – un stil electic, ce îmbină elemente renascentiste, orientale şi baroce.
