Geocache Description:

An easy way to obtain your Goodbye 2015 Souvenir Badge, especially for those who are running out of local caches.

To start with we admit that this has been anglicized (see the brackets below) and decided that we had to include this warning before we get comments from Celtic Geocaching Pagans.

Samhain is a celebration of the Celtic New Year and an ancient festival of the dead (we think that we may miss this bit out this time), according to some academics is was the 1st of November (now read the 1st January) but they also say that a Celtic day does not run from midnight to midnight but from dusk on the day before to dusk the following day, therefore Samhain starts at dusk on the 31st October (now read the 31st December) which would have been Halloween or as we know it Hop -tu-Naa.

As we consider dusk on the 31st December to be a time when Geocachers are getting ready to go out on this special night we have decided that lunch time seems to be an apropriate time (at least it is half way towards the next day) to all meet up and say "Samhain" or at least Happy New Year's Eve. The event will run from 1.00pm to 2.00pm but feel free to stay longer if you wish to have a good geo-chat.
