When we started the Idaho Quality Trail (IQT) we had intended to do it all at once. Obviously that didn't happen but we are tying it all up and are happy to bring you another section of trail in the process, You will note that each section has its own name but all connect to form the IQT. Originally we intended the trail to have a bit of something for everyone ranging from easy power trail caches to difficult 4/5 to 5/5 caches. However, time has shown us it's better to roll with the flow so all the IQT has been converted to true power trail form. It's easier on everyone that way.
The rankings of these caches reflect the overall terrain and road conditions. However, this is a power trail and you should treat it as such. The caches are either urped or in a sage brush with rock cover.
This portion of the trail will take you approximately 70 miles from Weiser to Emmet along the back roads of Washington, Payette and Gem counties. You will find gas, food and lodging in either Weiser or Emmet with nothing in between. Remember, this is still the desert so be prepared and plan accordingly.
You should have opportunity to see a lot of wildlife. While placing this section of trail we saw deer, antelope, rabbits, coyotes, fox and a variety of birds and small animals.
