Growing up in the village of Alberton just up the road from here was not a bad place to spend my childhood...that being said I could't wait to get my drivers license for obvious reasons...to put it mildly there wasn't a whole lot to do in Alberton in the 1980's. Being able to drive meant having the ability to roam the land and by roam the land I mean head over to Jerseyville where all the action was happening...heck they not only had a general store but they had a baseball diamond and a park also!! As most 16 year olds do I was known to break the speed limit a bit back in those days as did most of my friends...one of the best places to test out the old 83 Ford Crown Victoria was right where you are standing now....we dubbed it "The Alberton Autobahn" and like the famous German Autobahn it seemed most days like there was no speed limit at all...of course there is...it's 60 km/h so try to keep it around that if ya can.
This is the second geocache that I have hidden and I hope you enjoy it. You will however need to make sure that you have a screwdriver in your posession and a pen or pencil to fill out the log...if you aren't sure how to get the log out of it's hiding place just put your devious mind to work, everything should "turn" out ok in the end.
Feel free to correct me on the coordinates if they appear to be a bit off...my GPS was dancing around a bit when the cache was placed.
