Geocache Description:

This is a very simple offset multi which is part of the ever popular Church Micro series. It shouldn't take any longer than thirty minutes to complete and once you have the final coordinates you will be looking for a small camouflaged clip lock box containing log book, pen, and swappables- and at time of placing a gift for FTF. Wheelchair users can easily collect the values required- however may need assistance retrieving final cache.

St Marks Church, Derby Road, North End

St Marks was built in 1874, and is one of a team of three Anglican (Church of England) churches who serve a parish of 20,000 people in the north of the city of Portsmouth. It holds two important World War One memorials including the WW1 memorial cross and a memorial to GWH Adams. The WW1 memorial cross is on the wall behind the alter and is inscribed with the following: "TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN MEMORY OF THOSE FROM THIS PARISH WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR. 1914-       " The inscription is incomplete in that the date of the end of the war is omitted, suggesting the memorial was erected before the end of the war. The memorial to GWH Adams is on the west side of the Lady Chapel and is inscribed with the following "TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN LOVING MEMORY OF GWH ADAMS (HARRY) CLERK RN OF HMS FORMIDABLE 1915".  "Harry" Adams was lost when HMS Formidable went down on 1st January 1915 in the English Channel after being attacked by a submarine.

At the given coordinates, take a look at the large column with the cross at the top. There is a sign here with red text, green text, and blue text. Take a look at ONLY the seven lines of the GREEN text underneath the heading "WORSHIP GOD"

A= last word of green text.

B= First word of green text.

C= The number of letters in the third word of the first line, of the green text.

D= The number of letters in the third word of the sixth line of the green text.

E= The number of letters in the first word of the fifth line of the green text.

F= The number of letters in the third word of the second line.
