De Zandmotor is een nieuwe manier om de Nederlandse kust te verdedigen tegen de zee.
Een nieuwe zandplaat werd uit zee opgespoten.
Op de Zandmotor staat de ArgusMast.
Een hoge mast met daarop camera’s die in verschillende richtingen opnames maken van de Zandmotor.
Deze beelden worden gebruikt om te analyseren hoe de Zandmotor zich ontwikkelt.
Op de mast, vernoemd naar de mythologische Griekse reus Argus, zijn camera’s bevestigd die continu fotograferen hoe de Zandmotor in de loop van de komende jaren verandert.
WAARSCHUWING:
De wandeling kan natuurlijk vanaf Kijkduin gedaan worden, maar is dan langer en er moet dan rekening met snel opkomend tij gehouden worden.

New land was created from the sea.
On the Zandmotor(SandEngine) stands the ArgusMast.

These images are used to analyse the changes of the Zandmotor over the years.
On the mast, named after the mythological Greek giant Argus, camera's film the changes in the next years on the Zandmotor.
WARNING:
The stroll can be done from Kijkduin but this approach is longer and potentially more dangerous due to incoming tide.
