La cache se situe sur le site de l'ancienne usine sucrière de Pierrefonds,à l'abandon depuis qu'elle a fermé ses portes à la fin de la saison de canne de 1970.Inscrite à l'inventaire supplémentaire des Monuments historique,elle est un témoin du faste de l'architecture agro-industrielle à la Réunion.

The cache is located at the abandoned sugar factory of Pierrefonds, which has been closed at the end of the sugar-cane season in 1970. This manufactory belongs to the french historical monument list (so protected), this is the witness of the industrial architecture of the Island.
