Tweed River Regional Museum
Tweed River Historical Society was founded in 1985. Its objectives are to promote, conserve and research Tweed Valley and lower Gold Coast history.
In 2015 it amalgamated with the Tweed River Regional Museum forming one Museum in three unique locations; Murwillumbah, Tweed Heads and Uki. The Tweed Heads branch consists of three relocated historic buildings plus a newly built research facilities in a tranquil riverside park setting.
The Courthouse Museum is currently closed but the Historical Society is open twice a week for any questions about Tweed history. They have comprehensive files on pioneering families and instituions. The park area adjaent the museum is open 24/7 and has amenities - picnic tables, bbq and if you have the time, it fronts the river, so throw in a line.
