The Killeen Cabin
The Irish Catholic Killeens immigrated to New Brunswick in the early 1800’s. They, along with other Irish families, petitioned for land in the Hanwell area, which they were granted, and had to build a road to their lots. The Killeens struggled to support themselves on these small lots but, by nearing the mid-1800’s, they were able to build a simple cabin as shelter for their family.Killeen
