The cache is not at the posted coordinates. This is a simple field puzzle that can be solved from outside the main gate of the shipyard. The main gate is locked outside of business hours. There is plenty of parking nearby in the visitors lot.

A – In the center of the mural, there is a painting of the Kalmar Nyckel under full sail. How many flags is she flying, minus one? This is the answer for A.
B – How many people are in the river scene on the left side of the mural? This is the answer for B.

C – On the side of the Copeland Maritime Center building, facing the street, there is a large wall made up of many panes of glass. Count the number of triangular window panes to get the answer for C.
D – On that same glass wall, how many doors are there? This will give you the answer to D.

Description:
The original Kalmar Nyckel served as Governor Peter Minuit's flagship for the 1638 expedition that founded the colony of New Sweden, establishing the first permanent European settlement in the Delaware Valley, at Fort Christina, in present-day Wilmington, Delaware. She would make a total of four roundtrip crossings of the Atlantic, more than any other documented ship of the American colonial era.
Built at the Kalmar Nyckel Foundation’s shipyard on Wilmington’s historic 7th Street Peninsula, the modern Kalmar Nyckel was launched into the Christina River in 1997, about 200 yards downstream from the site of the original ship’s first landing at “the Rocks” in March of 1638.
The Kalmar Nyckel sails daily from April to November, voyaging over 3,000 nautical miles each year. She sails from her home port in Wilmington, her second port in Lewes, Delaware, and visits ports-of-call along the Eastern Seaboard from Virginia to New England. The ship is served by a crew of 300 active volunteers and USCG-certified officers, including the ship’s captain, a relief captain, first mate, and second mate/lead educator. In addition to sailing, the volunteer crew maintains the ship each winter season and delivers much of the Foundation’s educational program throughout the year.
The Kalmar Nyckel Foundation is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the cultural and maritime heritage of Delaware for the education and enrichment of all. The Foundation is a volunteer-based organization that built, owns, and operates the Kalmar Nyckel.
While the ship is away, the Copeland Maritime Center is open! Self-Guided tours of the Water Craft of the World Exhibit and the 3/4 scale model Kalmar Nyckel are available Monday through Fridays 10am-4pm, and Saturdays 10am-2pm. Cost is $5 Adults, $3 youth 6-17 (age 0-5 is free).
