Standing 22 feet tall, this Transformer is one of only 5 statues like this that are over 20 feet tall in the United States. One of the other five is ALSO in Stillwater, on the west side of town. It weighs about 5,700 pounds and is made from recycled auto and motorcycle parts, metal shelving, and various household appliance pieces. It was created in Thailand, and took 4 months to build and 3 months to ship to Stillwater. However, the quality of the statue was not the owner of G & M Body Shop wanted outside his business, so he spend almost a year taking it apart, re-welding, reinforcing, re-fabricating, and refinishing the structure to make it something he'd be proud to have in front of his shop. It was a huge hit with the public as soon as it went up, and understandably so! It is right on Highway 51 (called 6th Street in Stillwater), and about 20 miles to the east of I-35. You can't miss it, as it is RIGHT THERE when you drive by. Worth a side trip if you ask me.
