Ricadente all'interno della Riserva Naturale Orientata Monte Sambughetti e Campanito, Monte Sambughetti con i suoi 1558 metri di altezza risulta essere il punto più alto della provincia di Enna. Nella parte sommitale di Monte Sambughetti, sopra quota 1400 metri del versante settentrionale, è possibile trovare una formazione relitta di faggio (Fagus sylvatica) in continuità. Una formazione relitta è una specie che ancora vive in un'area nonostante siano profondamente mutate le condizioni climatiche che in passato ne hanno permesso la formazione. Più in basso un esteso querceto misto noto come Bosco della Giumenta.
Accesso lungo la S.S. 117 tra i centri abitati di Mistretta (ME) e Nicosia (EN). Lasciare l'auto a bordo strada e accedere tramite accesso pedonale sulla sinistra.
Monte Sambughetti has an altitude of 1558 metres and it is the highest mountain of Enna territory. On the top, over 1400 metres of Northern side, it is possibile to see an old development of beech trees (Fagus sylvatica). This species lives here even if there are not anymore the climatic conditions that in the past allowed the development of these trees. Downwards there is a wide mixed oaks area called Bosco della Giumenta.
Access from S.S. 117 between the villages of Mistretta and Nicosia. Leave the car along the road and go in through the pedestrian path on the left.
