MBGA and MGUG Hot Dog and GPS Field Training event Event Cache

Manitoba Geocaching Association and MGUG (Manitoba GIS User Group) are partnering up for a hot dog BBQ and gps field training afternoon.

Where: Assiniboine Park site 6
When: Sunday August 30 1:00 - 4pm (or later)

We will be teaching people in the field:

1. how to take accurate coordinates: TheWark
2. how to project waypoints
3. how to use UTM instead of the usual decimal minutes AND converting Decimal minutes to Degrees Minutes Seconds: glacier_ice
4. we will hide a couple of practice Geocaches for people who have never cached before.
5. AND MORE!

This will be collaborative training using the experience that people have, to show inexperienced people some new uses of their gps! We will look to partner some people up for the teaching.

We would love to have some volunteers take on the above topics. Please post a note indicating what you would like to help with.
