Whilst the Baptist Church lacks the grandeur of the other churches in the cluster of churches in North Chingford, it remains an important meeting place for members of the local community.
A Baptist Mission has existed in Chingford since 1888, however a Baptist place of worship in King's Road was only licensed in 1929, and a church was formed in 1934. The present church building was erected in 1953
