SPOT is an acronym for Support People of Today. This organization operates a weekly Food Bank and used cloting depot. Sales from donated clothing are used to operate the Food Bank. The bulding is located at the former Department of Natural Resources property  which closed due to provincial restructuring. SPOT moved into the renovated building and opened at this new location October 7, 2013 only to become a victim of arson. On October 13, 2013 the renovated building and all their supplies burned to the ground. They had to move back to their former location on Maple st. and with a flood of donations were able to reopen to serve the community. Thanks to insurance, donations and assistance from many sources they were eventually able to rebuild a new building on the former DNR property, and opened their doors on Decembe 1, 2014.
