Geocache Description:

For our 20th wedding anniversary, we spent 8 days driving the ring road in Iceland. Along the way, we placed a geocache in this lovely spot after a delicious dinner of langoustine in Höfn. This geocache has scenic views towards the glaciers of Vatnajökull National Park.

WHY IS THIS GEOCACHE UNLIKE ANY OTHER? Where else can you hunt for a geocache while you walk through the planets of our solar system? The geocache is located along a trail which is a model of the solar system, scaled down more than 2.1 billion fold, with sizes and distances in correct proportions. The planets are molded on top of metal poles based on gabbroic boulders from the nearby Litlahorn mountain. Information signs are attached to each bolder. The cache is located between Ceres (the largest asteriod in the asteriod belt) and Jupiter. Bird watching and coastal life can also be enjoyed from the trail.
